ATTORNEY PROFILES

Drue Kirby Coats

I have been practicing law for over 20 years, and I have been a pro tem Judge for over 15 of those years.   My practice has concentrated on criminal law.  I have represented persons charged with major felony crimes to misdemeanors.

I spent many years as a prosecutor and public defender before going into private practice. I have represented countless persons charged with DUI, Assault, including domestic violence, theft, vehicular assault, reckless driving, minor dui, possession of controlled substances etc.   Besides representing persons charged with crimes, I also represents persons who are facing or seeking anti-harassment and/or protection orders or defending against them.

For every client, and every issue, I take pride in my attention to detail and ability to listen to clients and to understand their objectives.  I will make sure you understand your options, clearly know your rights and risks with every decision you make.  I will answer your questions, provide you with professional advice, and give you ample time to make a decision or determine a plan of action that best fits your situation.

I worked for over 5 years with two of the top dui law firms in the state before going into my own practice.  I know the law, the Judges and the prosecutors.  I can handle your case with confidence.

Past clients have repeatedly stated they felt relieved after hiring me..  “Drue is confident, knows what she is doing and doesn’t waste time.  She consistently provides superior legal services.  I would highly recommend her to my closest family and friends.”   Ben R., former client

William "Beau" Coats

I come from a family of six kids: three boys, three girls, two sets of twins. Sitting around the dinner table with some rather intelligent and opinionated children it soon became clear that I would grow up to be either a diplomat or a lawyer.

I have been in the practice of law for over 20 years.  I advise small businesses in a number of areas including drafting and negotiating contracts, purchase and sale agreements, incorporation and partnership documents.  I am counsel to a number of small businesses who rely on me for legal work on employment issues, licensing and non-compete agreements as well as advising on issues of trademark, trade secrets, and copyright infringement within international, federal and state regulatory frameworks.

I am very well versed in real estate law as I was formerly a real estate broker.   Some of my work in these areas has changed the law and given guidance to other lawyers.
